English classで書いた感想文

たいした文章ではないですが、この程度の感想文が書ければUC Berkeleyの学部生になれる可能性が有ります。

I went to Ugly Mug to observe a weekly reading called “Two Idiots Peddling Poetry” on April 8, 2009. Unfortunately, the main guest, Mike Cluff could not attend the weekly reading because of taking care of his sick son; however, I enjoyed it very much.

The reading started with a greeting from a host, Steve Ramirez, and he read a poem called “Blind Date”.

The first reader was Ms M. She read three poems. She explained the reason why she started writing poetry. She confessed that she was an abused child and found salvation in writing and reading poetry.

The second reader was John. He read five poems: “Truth,” “There Will,” “Just Little Longer,” “Ghost,” and “Homo-sapience”. I liked the last poem the best among the poems in the night. He depicted human as an animal who has a cruel, greedy nature from a scientific perspective through the poem.

The third reader was Russell. He read three poems: “A Cat Tonic,” “Nobody is Safe,” and “Last Ride.”

At last, Steve and his pal, Benn, read their poems in turn. Some of the Steve’s poems were dedicated to his friends in the cafe. After reading 13 poems, they started reading a poem cooperatively. The title of the poem is “Two Victor”. From the middle of the poem, they started reciting the poem from memory. They seemed to compete with each other. It was impressive and exciting.

I met Danielle and her friends who takes your another class, in the cafe. I know her since we take the same anthropology class.

In short, I enjoyed the weekly reading with a glass of iced coffee very much.
